What is food intolerance?

When food intolerance occurs in our body, it means it may react to certain foods, food ingredients or even food constituents, such as proteins, peptides, phenols, sugars etc. Many people habitually consume foods and drinks without knowing they may have some sort of intolerance or sensitivity. In fact, more than 20% of the population in developed countries suffer today from some kind of food intolerance or food sensitivity, according to the The Association of UK Dietitians. The percentage may differ from country to country, depending on dietary culture and level of access to nutritional advice. A major cause for these imbalances has been the rapid addition of “new” foods in the human sustenance, mainly products of modern, industrial-grade agriculture and livestock farming. Simply put, the human digestive system had no time to fully adapt to these changes.

Can I use the food intolerance test as a diet for weight loss?

The results of an energetic food intolerance test do not constitute a diet programme. However, you can use them to adapt your diet and nutritional habits by removing or reducing consumption of certain foods for a specified period of time. Thereafter, gradual reinstatement of most of those foods should help your body “reset” its tolerance (although it may always react against some of them), allowing for your dietician/physician’s recommended weight loss diet to take effect more easily.

Could a condition I suffer from be caused by some of the foods included in the results?

The test results can tell you which foods, ingredients or substances your body may react to in any way whatsoever, in energetic terms. It does not associate specific foods with specific conditions or symptoms. Some foods may encumber your body’s balancing and healing effort when there is a problem, but that does not mean they are the cause.
